The Office of the Controller General has launched the National IP Pendency Elimination Karma Mission (NIPEKM) for ten (10) weeks, ending on 26 April 2026 (World IP Day), to reduce critical pre-examination pendency at the Trade Marks Registry.
Key directions under the Order:
• Designated officers to examine 60 cases per day
• Officers across TMR, GI Registry, Copyright Office and the Office of the CGPDTM who are not currently assigned examination work will undertake examination of National Trade Mark Applications for 1 day per week
• Officers conducting hearings 4 days a week to devote Friday to examination work
• Constitution of a Reserved Show Cause Hearing panel
• Daily IT-monitored performance reporting
The revised duties and enhanced targets take immediate effect.
