The Office of the Controller General of Patents, Designs and Trade Marks has issued public notices announcing the lists of candidates qualified for the viva voce stage of the Trade Marks Agent Examination 2026 and the Patent Agent Examination 2026. The notice page is titled “Lists of Qualified Candidates for Viva-Voce of Both PAE & TAE 2026.”
For the Trade Marks Agent Examination 2026, held on 10 January 2026 across 13 centres nationwide, 60 candidates who secured a minimum of 50 marks in both Paper I and Paper II have qualified for the viva voce.
For the Patent Agent Examination 2026, held on 11 January 2026 across the same 13 centres, 344 candidates who secured a minimum of 50 marks in both Paper I and Paper II have qualified for the viva voce.
Shortlisted candidates are required to appear in person for the viva voce at the designated offices in Ahmedabad, Chennai, Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai, or at RGNIIPM, Nagpur. The detailed viva voce schedule is to be published only on the official website, and no separate communication will be issued. Candidates are also required to carry their original admit card and a government-issued photo ID for verification.
The notices further clarify that both examinations are still under process, and that marks obtained or copies of answer booklets will not be disclosed before declaration of the final results, which are tentatively scheduled for the end of March 2026, after completion of the viva voce.
