NIPEKM Launched to Address Trade Mark Examination Backlog

The Office of the Controller General of Patents, Designs and Trade Marks has launched the National IP Pendency Elimination Karma Mission (NIPEKM), a ten-week initiative concluding on 26 April 2026, aimed at reducing pre-examination pendency at the Trade Marks Registry through intensified examination allocation, inter-office deployment of officers, reserved show cause hearing panels and daily IT-based performance monitoring.
